The global giants Unilever and Walmart approach sustainability differently.

The manufacturer Unilever is all in with a “Unilever Sustainable Living Plan” (USLP) to improve the lives of families working in every level of its supply chain, while the retailer Walmart’s plans conservatively target improvement in other specific areas.

Unilever’s ambitious plan earned it the number one ranking in the Global Scan Sustainability Survey, by a wide margin — while Walmart lagged behind at a far ninth position.
